Lacey is the premier supplier of costume wigs to the theatrical
profession. They have produced an astounding collection of almost
1,000 styles in a variety of quality levels to suit any budget.
For many of the styles there are several versions available, from the
least expensive "Bargain" version to the most expensive "Deluxe"
version. A good rule of thumb when considering a Lacey wig is "You
get what you pay for."
The bargain versions use inexpensive costume wig fiber and are
recommended only for the lowest budget productions, a one-time costume
party, or for plays where the actors are far...far...away from the
audience!
The deluxe versions are made from a much higher quality fiber and
generally are more detailed, more full, and will last a lot longer.
These wigs are available in a limited number of colors, but this is not
to be seen as a fault, as Lacey knows that not too many clients will
want an "I Love Lucy" wig in any color but red, or an Elvis wig in
blonde!
Lacey warehouses a tremendous quantity of wigs, and large orders can
usually be filled without an availability problem. Their variety
is incredible, and truly all but the cheapest bargain versions are
well-made wigs suitable for almost any occasion where a costume or
theatrical wig is needed.
Con_opinion:
This a complaint heard constantly: it is difficult to choose a
style based upon the pen and ink drawings Lacey provides in their
catalog. Lacey knows this, and the company is working on a catalog
of selected styles which will feature "live" models. The expense
of producing a color catalog is staggering, and Lacey carries so many
styles, they have found it cost-prohibitive to produce a complete color
catalog. Still...they are the largest and the best costume wig
manufacturer, and shouldn't be overlooked!
