2. I have hair so I cannot use adhesive... What method would be best for securing the hair piece

1. What are the different types of wig attachments?

  1. Tape: Double-sided adhesive strips or roll. Comfortable and very secure. Allows daily removal of system.
  2. Transpore Tape: Semi-liquid wig adhesive similar to tape. Used to create a stronger bond. Can be worn from 3 to 5 days.
  3. Clips: Attached to the underside of the wig or hair unit. Grips the strong, growing perimeter hair. Daily wear or longer, depending on your preference.
  4. Liquid Adhesive: Stronger than tape. Lasts up to 5 days without removal. Remove with solvent or 99% alcohol, which can be purchased at your local pharmacy.
  5. Extended Wear Bonding: Creates a firm attachment to the hair track with a medically approved "super glue" type product. Must be applied by a specialist trained in this procedure or results can be disastrous. Lasts 3 to 6 weeks.
  6. Weave: A single tiny cornrow braid around the perimeter of the bald area. Acts as an anchor so that unit may be sewn in place.

2. I have hair so I cannot use adhesive. But the hair is weak and not
strong and I find that clips do not hold the hairpiece in place securely. My hair is thin on the crown and I use a hairpiece to cover it up. What method would be best for securing the hair piece

There are a few options for you. You can use small bobby pins to secure the piece to your naturally growing hair, wear an integration hairpiece where you pull you own hair thru the large open wefts on the base and secure it with toupee clips, or you can wear a wig that is made with a product called Dermafix. Dermafix is a medical grade material that will adhere to your head without pulling on your hair. I hope this answers your question, but if not, please feel free to ask again.
